Practice Updates Regarding COVID-19

We are excited to announce the reopening of our practice to regular patient care on June 1, 2020.

The entire team at New Dimension Dentistry hopes this message finds you and your family in good health. Our team has been working hard during recent weeks in the face of COVID-19.

We did temporarily close our office to routine procedures but continued to treat dental emergencies. This helped keep emergent dental patients from adding strain to the emergency rooms and devoted medical teams on the front lines.

Now, we’re looking forward to a return to regular operation, effective June 1, making this an ideal time to update you on our practice’s safety protocols.

Your safety has always been our number one priority

We have ALWAYS been committed to keeping everyone who visits or works in our office healthy and safe. We utilize the latest technology and equipment, and follow the most current infection control guidelines and recommendations from the following science-backed organizations:

  • The American Dental Association (ADA)
  • New York County Dental Society
  • The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

We’ve always focused on compliance with recommended infection control measures. You’ve probably noticed some of our safety protocols during your past visits, including the protective measures we have in place for patients, the continual disinfecting of rooms and equipment, and sterilization of all dental tools between patients.

Now, we’ve added even more layers of protection to our office to keep our team and patients even safer. You’ll notice many of these changes at your next visit. Others will be present behind the scenes, quietly safeguarding your health and that of our team members.

Appointment Scheduling

We are now carefully managing all appointments to allow for social distancing between patients. This might mean that you are contacted to have an existing appointment time moved by a few minutes, to stagger arrival times, or that you have fewer options for new appointments than you’re used to. Our goal is to provide more time between patients, which will both reduce waiting times for you and minimize the number of patients in our office common areas at any one time.

Upon Your Arrival

Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some screening questions, using an online questionnaire. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you arrive at our office. When you arrive, be aware that:

  • If an escort is needed for your appointment, we ask that they wait outside the building. This is to minimize risk for everyone.
  • You’ll need to wear a face mask to enter our office.
  • Your temperature will be taken upon arrival at the office. We do this for both doctors/staff, and for patients. If a high temperature is recorded for a team member, they are sent home for the day. A patient with a high-temperature reading will be is rescheduled.
  • We will provide hand sanitizer for you to use when you enter the office, in the reception area, and in other places in the office for you to use as needed.

Office Safety Protocols

We have added the following upgrades to our office to help keep you safe.

  • Sneeze guards or droplet barriers at front desk area
  • New high vacuum evacuation systems
  • Enhanced operatory disinfection procedures of all surfaces between patients.

You will see us wiping down everything that has been in contact with a patient and team members, using sterilizing agents. Common areas will be disinfected every hour on the hour, including door handles, counters, arm rests, and other high touch surfaces.

If you previously canceled an appointment, please reach out to us to reschedule so we can keep your dental health on track! We look forward to seeing you again, and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you and every patient safe at our practice.

We love all our patients!
